June 14th, 2017, 2:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Breaking Bread in the Holyland is a Ledge Tour that takes a unique and very special look at the cultural history associated with Wisconsin’s Niagara Escarpment. Join us for this guided bus tour for the rare opportunity to visit three historic churches (St. Ann, St. Mary, St. Lawrence Seminary) located within the “Holyland” of Calumet and Fond du Lac Counties. Led by Dr. Joanne Kluessendorf, geologist and director of the Weis Earth Science Museum, this tour will inform and inspire you about how this beautiful landscape was settled and how the location and architecture of these churches relate to the geology of the region. We’ll also view inside these lovely churches and hear about their history from diocese representatives. The tour ends with dinner (included in the price) at the legendary Schwarz’s Supper Club, located in St. Anna, for that authentic Wisconsin Supper Club experience!
