2012 Niagara Escarpment Symposium: Cultivating a Sense of Place
Save the date for this upcoming event! On Thursday and Friday, March 29th and 30th, 2012, NERN will be hosting its annual Niagara Escarpment Symposium at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.
This year’s event is entitled “Cultivating a Sense of Place: The Niagara Escarpment and its Unexpected Cultural Landscape” and it was developed to emphasize the subtleties of what comprises the cultural landscape along the Niagara Escarpment corridor. Tentative topic areas include Green Corridors, History & Sense of Place, Geotourism, Creating a Land Ethic, and Building Capacity.
The Conference Committee is working on securing speakers, some of which are very notable nationally for their work in these areas. An evening wine tasting reception and a guided afternoon field trip are being planned as well.
Details will be available by fall of 2011, but please save the date now!
